BUCKS VS. PACERS  4/28/24

When the Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks play Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round series in Indianapolis today, the Pacers hope to push the injury-plagued Bucks as close to elimination as possible.

In overtime, with 1.6 seconds left, All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton made a three-point play to help the sixth-seeded Pacers defeat the third-seeded Bucks 121-118 on Friday. With a final line of 18 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds, Haliburton recorded the fourth postseason triple-double in franchise history and helped Indiana take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

For the first time since making it to the conference finals in 2014, the Pacers are attempting to win a playoff series. Despite the triple-double, it was unlikely that Haliburton would emerge victorious from his game. He shot 1-of-12 from three-point range and 8-of-22 from the field.

Pascal Siakam contributed 17 points and 9 rebounds, while Myles Turner finished with 29 points and 9 rebounds. The Pacers' effective offense turned out to be sufficient to overcome 42 points by Milwaukee’s Khris Middleton.

There were 2.3 seconds left in the fourth quarter when Middleton made a three-pointer to tie the game at 111-111. With eight seconds remaining in overtime, the three-time All-Star also answered Nesmith's corner three by putting his shot from beyond the arc in the bank. Not too bad, considering Middleton injured his right ankle in the first quarter of Game 2 and was listed as doubtful to play on Friday.

After suffering what appeared to be a left leg injury late in the first quarter, Damian Lillard's availability may be in question today. The eight-time All-Star made a comeback in Game 3, but not before making his Achilles injury worse. In 44 minutes, he finished with 28 points. Lillard is now listed as doubtful for today.

Milwaukee head coach Doc Rivers' team is suffering greatly from injuries. Giannis Antetokounmpo (left calf strain) has missed the team's last six games going back to the regular season. The former two-time MVP is listed as out indefinitely and likely won’t play again today. Middleton is probable and the announcement that Lillard is doubtful caused this game’s line to move.

After opening at Indiana -6, the news of Lillard’s injury and his status for Game 4 moved the line to its current -10. Indiana is now 6-2 SU in its last eight games. The Pacers are 4-4 ATS and just 1-2 ATS so far in the playoff series.

FREE PICK: KHRIS MIDDLETON OVER 26.5 POINTS

Well…the points have to come from somewhere. Giannis…out. Lillard…doubtful. The Bucks are 1-8 in games without their top two leading scorers. Without them, somebody has to pick up the slack. That would be Middleton, who had 42 points in Game 3. It is the only game of the series that he has gone Over this number. In fact, Middleton only went Over this number once during the regular season. But, today he’ll be the Bucks primary scorer and clear this prop.
