How about the call by Coach Rick yesterday? Fade Zac Gallen on the road and back Seattle (+107) for the win. Of course, it’s not all champagne and roses as we - and just about everyone else - got smoked on the White Sox upset of the Rays. It’s all good, though, as we dive into a beautiful baseball Saturday. Here are today’s Quick Picks.
CLEVELAND @ ATLANTA (ATL -175, 8.5)
GUARDIANS +1.5
Charlie Morton starts for Atlanta today. He’s 2-0 with a 4.70 ERA. The 39-year-old veteran has had some control issues early this season. Morton has walked 10 batters in 23 innings of work so far. That will not bode well against a Guardians team that ranks No. 2 in the AL in runs scored.
Tanner Bibee will start for Cleveland. Like Morton, the 24-year-old Bibee is 2-0 and sports an ERA north of 4.00 (4.44). However, Bibee has allowed 2 or fewer earned runs in 3 of his last 4 starts. More importantly, the Guardians have won all five of his starts this season.
Cleveland thrives in the underdog role. They have covered the run line in 10 of their last 11 games after coming off a loss. Back the Guardians on the run line tonight against the aging Morton.
ARIZONA @ SEATTLE (SEA -164, 7.5)

Seattle won 6-1 last night against the DBacks. Coach Rick called it right here on Quick Picks. Zac Gallen is a different pitcher on the road. Tonight’s game is all about Seattle pitcher George Kirby. He gets the start for the Mariners.
Kirby is 2-2 with a 4.62 ERA, but his metrics suggest that he is a much better pitcher. . Kirby’s FIP is 2.57 and his xERA is 3.66. He’s been a bit unlucky this season, but he does have success at home. In his last start in Seattle, Kirby went six innings and allowed just two earned runs. He picked up a 9-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Kirby probably won’t go too deep in this one, so we’ll back the Mariners in the First Five. Seattle has won on the F5 moneyline in 30 of its last 55 games. They’ve also won 8 of their last 10 games. Back Kirby early here tonight.
