Tampa Bay has been pretty inconsistent in 2024, but tonight they will have the advantage. Right-hander Zack Littell will start for the Rays and he will go up against Christian Scott. The Mets rookie will be making his MLB debut tonight.
Littell is 1-2 this season, but he does have a 3.27 ERA. He has allowed 3 or fewer earned runs in 4 of his last 5 starts. Littell has pitched at least 5.2 innings in each of his last three starts and he's recorded at least six strikeouts.
Tampa Bay has had great success against the Mets, especially at home. The Rays have won the last six straight when they have hosted the Mets. New York struggles against Tampa Bay. The Mets are just 3-9 SU in the last 12 against the Rays. New York has also lost 11 straight games when facing AL East teams as a road underdog.
SAN DIEGO @ ARIZONA (ARI -130, 8.5)

Right-hander Michael King starts for the Padres tonight. He'll face the No. 5 scoring team in MLB in the Arizona Diamondbacks. The DBacks rank in the bottom 10 of the majors in bullpen ERA, FIP, and xFIP. Coach Rick mentions these because they set up tonight's Over pick.
King is 2-3 on the season and has a 5.00 ERA. His underlying metrics are even worse. King's FIP is 6.27 and he has given up 6 or more runs in back-to-back starts. He'll face an Arizona lineup that ranks in the top ten in runs scored, hits, batting average, and on-base percentage.
San Diego actually ranks in the top ten in the same categories. The Padres will face Brandon Pfaadt, who has a 4.63 ERA. He has pitched better as of late, allowing just two earned runs in each of his last three starts. The problem is the DBacks bullpen which ranks 20th in MLB with a 4.25 ERA. Two strong offenses, a struggling starting pitcher, and a weak bullpen will propel this total Over.
