The A's beat Seattle last night and there is value on the home team tonight once again. The Mariners have lost each of Bryan Woo's last three starts. That's not so much on Woo as it is on the Seattle bats. Woo has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 3 of his 4 starts in July. Seattle just couldn't back him up.
Now, Woo does have two starts against the A's this season. He pitched 6 innings and didn't give up a run in Seattle, but in a start at Sutter Health Park, Woo pitched 6 innings and allowed 5 earned runs.
Jeffrey Springs starts for the A's. He's been okay when pitching at home. He also has two starts against the Mariners this season. He pitched 6 scoreless innings in a 7-0 win in Seattle at the beginning of the season. He then pitched 5 innings and allowed just 2 ER in a start at home.
With the win last night, the A's now have won 5 of their last 6 games. They've been pretty competitive as of late and they've covered the run line in 6 of their last 7 games. I like them to do it again tonight.
