LA DODGERS @ WASHINGTON (LAD -190, 8.5)

The Dodgers absolutely own the Nationals, especially when the two teams play in Washington. That will be the sight of tonight’s final game of the series. LA is 8-4 SU in the last 12 games against Washington and is 10-2 SU in the last 12 played in the nation’s capital.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto starts for the Dodgers. He’s 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA. His underlying metrics are pretty good and suggest some improvement. His FIP is 3.02 with an xFIP of just 2.68. Yamamoto has allowed 3 ER in each of his last two starts, but it might not matter with how well the Dodgers are hitting the ball.
Mackenzie Gore will pitch for the Nats. He’s off to a pretty good start - 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA. In his last start, Gore lasted just four innings and gave up 3 ER. In his last start against LA, he had a tough time too. He allowed four earned runs in four innings of work. Gore typically doesn’t go deep into games, which will be Washington’s downfall tonight. The Dodgers will crush a tired bullpen once again to lift LA to another victory.
OAKLAND @ NY YANKEES (NYY -270, 8)
YANKEES -1.5
The Yankees lost the first game of this series on Monday and won the last two in a row. They’ll look for No. 3 straight, which would give the Yankees six series wins this season. Nestor Cortes takes the mound for New York. He continues to improve. He’s 1-1 with a solid 3.41 ERA and his xERA of 2.74 suggests even better performances to come. Cortes has recorded 21 strikeouts in his last three starts.
Opposite Cortes will be Oakland left-hander Alex Wood. He is pretty much a disaster for the A’s. Wood is 0-2 with a 7.89 ERA. He’s allowed 8 ER in his last two starts. Last time out…8 hits, 4 ER, in 5 innings. Wood’s fastball velocity has dropped off dramatically which is likely one of the reasons why opposing hitters are batting .359 against him this season.
New York has been hitting the ball well lately. They have won five of their last seven games and averaged over five runs a game in those wins. Last night, Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Anthony Rizzo all homered. They should jump all over Wood again tonight. Cortes will do his part and the Yankees cover the run line.
