After last night's ass whoopin', the Yankees regroup with Carlos Rodon on the mound tonight. Rodon has been solid all season long with a 16-7 record and a 3.12 ERA. He's also going up against Detroit's Jack Flaherty, who is one of the least profitable starting pitchers in baseball this season.
Rodon has allowed 2 ER or fewer in each of his last 5 starts. No surprise, but the Yankees won all five of those games. Detroit has been able to hit lefties and Rodon did get whacked by Detroit way back in April in the Motor City. Still, he's the better pitching option.
Flaherty is a mess - 7-13 overall with a 4.85 ERA. Since August 1, Flaherty has started 7 games. The Tigers have lost 6 and Flaherty's ERA in those 7 games was 5.83. He hasn't been good on the road either with a 5.64 road ERA in 12 starts.
Rodon is actually the most profitable F5 pitcher in MLB right now. He is 22-6-1 on the F5 moneyline this season. A $100 bettor would be up about $815 if he had bet on the Yankees F5 ML every time Rodon started.
