Cole Ragans returns from the 60-day IL to start tonight for Kansas City. He had a couple of decent rehab starts, but overall his season has been a big disappointment. This is an elite pitcher who is just 2-3 with a 5.18 ERA for the season.
Opposite Ragans is Seattle's Bryce Miller who is 4-5 with a 5.59 ERA. His season hasn't gone well either although Seattle has won his last four starts despite his penchant for giving up runs. In two career starts against Kansas City, Miller hasn't fared all that well either. He pitched a total of 9 innings and gave up 10 earned runs.
Add in a KC bullpen that's been getting jacked lately as well as a red-hot Mariners offense and we have an Over waiting to happen. The Royals bullpen over the last five games has an ERA of 7.23. Seattle has scored 78 runs in its current 10-game winning streak. The Over has cashed in 15 of the last 20 games between these two teams and they are playing in a hitter-friendly Kauffman Stadium (top 10 in Park Factor).
