CHICAGO @ WASHINGTON (WSH -4.5, 49.5)
JACORY CROSKEY-MERRITT ANYTIME TD
The game total opened at 48.5 and moved up to its current 49.5 suggesting that we should see a high-scoring game tonight. Chicago head coach Ben Johnson is notorious for coming out after a bye week and putting up points. Both Washington (26.8 ppg) and Chicago (25.3 ppg) rank in the top 10 in the NFL in scoring.
The point total suggests that both teams will score a number of touchdowns. Someone has to score those touchdowns and I like Croskey-Merritt, aka "Bill," to get at least one. Bill scored two touchdowns in last week's win over the Chargers. It was a breakout game for him as he carried the ball 14 times for 111 yards.
Chicago just so happens to have one of the NFL's worst run defenses. They give up 6.1 yards per rush attempt, the absolute worst number in the league. As a result, the Bears rank No. 31 in run defense allowing opponents 164.5 rushing yards per game.
Before the bye week, the Bears beat the Raiders 25-24, but they gave up three touchdowns to RB Ashton Jeanty, who had 138 rushing yards in that game. Jeanty scored once on the ground and caught two TD passes.
Expect Bill to get plenty of touches tonight. His rushing attempts prop is set at 14.5, the highest it has been all season.
