Joe Flacco will get his second start with the Bengals tonight. Last week, just after he was acquired via trade from Cleveland, Flacco made his first start and he was busy. The 41-year-old veteran attempted 45 passes for the Bengals.
He'll probably have to do the same tonight as Cincinnati just can't run the football. The Bengals are dead last in the NFL in rushing. They average just 56.7 yards rushing per game. Plus, the Bengals offense is built to throw the ball. Cincy committed to that with Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and company, but Burrow is hurt.
Pittsburgh's weak link is the pass defense. The Steelers rank 27th in the league in passing yards allowed per game. They won't let Cincy run the ball, so expect Flacco to do what he has done in 3 of the 5 games he has started this season - attempt 45 passes.
Flacco is averaging 41 pass attempts per game and the Steelers actually give up 38 attempts per game for the season. Over their last three games, Pittsburgh opponents have really tried to attack their pass defense with an average of 45 attempts per game.
