If Jacksonville wants to pull the upset or at least have a chance of pulling an upset tonight, then QB Trevor Lawrence is going to have to get the ball to WR Brian Thomas Jr. It won't be easy since the Chiefs have the 7th-best pass defense in the NFL right now. Kansas City allows 185.5 passing yards per game.
Thomas leads the Jags in targets with 32, that's an average of 8 per game. The problem is that Thomas is not the Jags leading receiver. He only has 12 catches through the first four games. That should change tonight.
Last season, Thomas caught at least 4 passes and had 50-plus receiving yards in 12 of the 17 regular season games. This year, he hasn't done that at all. He's had two games with 4 or more catches but he had 49 receiving yards in both of those games. Thomas had 55 yards receiving on just 2 catches against Houston.
Tonight, Lawrence and Thomas put it together and the Jags WR goes over 4 receptions and has at least 50 receiving yards. This parlay is priced around -140.
