The Seahawks travel to the nation's capital to take on the Commanders. Washington has lost three straight, including Monday night's 28-7 loss to the Chiefs. The upside is that the Commanders do get QB Jayden Daniels back for tonight's game.
Daniels will play behind a banged up offensive line and he won't have his top target, Terry McLaurin, in the lineup either. McLaurin re-injured his right quad during the Chiefs game on Monday and will not be available tonight.
On the other side, Seattle QB Sam Darnold is quietly becoming one of the NFL's elite. He ranks in the top 5 in a variety of metrics including Completion Percentage Over Expected, EPA/Play, and Success Rate. More importantly, he's led Seattle to a 5-2 start.
Seattle ranks No. 2 in the NFL in Total DVOA. The defense is outstanding. The Seahawks rank No. 1 against the run and they hold teams to 19.4 points per game (7th). Seattle is also a great road team. Under head coach Mike Macdonald, the Seahawks are 10-1 SU and 8-3 ATS in road games.
The Seahawks are the healthier team with the better defense. Washington ranks 23rd against the run, 26th against the pass, and they surrender 24.7 points per game, which ranks 21st.
