San Francisco is a top-5 passing offense that is led by QB Brock Purdy. Purdy has thrown for 295 yards in back-to-back games. He's averaging 248.1 passing yards per game this season and he's thrown for 17 touchdowns. Keep in mind, Purdy was hurt this season and has only played in seven games.
Purdy leads the NFL in red zone passing attempts and red zone passing completions. That's one of the reasons why he has the 17 TD passes in just 7 games. He threw five of the touchdowns last week in a win over Indianapolis.
Purdy has thrown at least two touchdown passes in 5 of the 7 games in which he played. He's also cleared 225 passing yards in 4 of the 7 games. San Francisco doesn't run the ball all that well. They rank 25th in rushing yards per game, but the passing game is outstanding.
Chicago's pass defense isn't terrible, but the Bears do rank 18th in passing yards allowed per game. They are also 28th in pass yards allowed per pass attempt (7.1). The Bears also rank 29th in passing touchdowns allowed per game. In a game with a high total (and one that has been bet up), expect Purdy and the 49ers to continue to do what they do best.
