JAKE BROWNING OVER 0.5 INTERCEPTIONS
Browning has had a tough time replacing Joe Burrow at quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals. Who wouldn't right? Burrow is one of the best in the game and this whole Bengals offense is really built around him and his abilities as a passer.
No offense to Browning, but he is no Joe Burrow. He's also thrown five interceptions in his two starts. That's not good. Tonight, he'll go up against a Denver defense that loves to get after the passer.
Last year, Denver led the NFL with 63 sacks. Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph loves to dial up the pressure. The Broncos have the third-highest blitz rate in the NFL (39%). Going into this week, Denver led the NFL in sacks with 12 through three games.
The Cincinnati offensive line has some injuries and the Bengals will start two rookies at the guard positions. Their offensive line play hasn't been good for a long time. Since 2020, the Bengals have allowed 255 sacks. Do the math. That's right around 50 per season.
The Broncos pressure is likely to force Browning into at least one very bad decision. That bad decision is likely to end up as a pick for Denver. As mentioned, Browning has thrown five picks - 2 last week against the Vikings and 3 the week before as the Bengals managed to beat Jacksonville.
