NFL: Bo Nix (Broncos) OVER 20.5 Rushing Yards
A nice bounce back day as promised going 2-1 on free picks and 3-1 on the VIP card last night. Time to kick things off in the NFL. I want you guys to take Bo Nix to go OVER 20.5 rushing yards. Prior to going under this number in 4 straight games Nix cashed the over on this total last week rushing 8 times for 23 yards which is right on his average of 23.4 yds/game. The Chargers defense is really solid this year and because of this, opposing quarterbacks have been forced to scramble, racking up the 7th most QB rushing yards against any team this season. Nix also faced this Chargers team in Week 6 and ran for 61 yards. I think he’s going to look to use his legs knowing that it worked last time. He doesn’t want to force any bad decisions in a big game with playoff implications. The Broncos are 3-point underdogs and in losses Nix escapes the pocket way more frequently, putting up over 30 rushing yards/game. I love this play to hopefully cash in the 1st half or early in the 3rd quarter. Take Bo Nix OVER 20.5 Rushing Yards!
NFL: Troy Franklin (Broncos) OVER 17.5 Receiving Yards
For the second free play I’m sticking with the Denver Broncos and going with Troy Franklin OVER 17.5 receiving yards. Franklin and Nix have a chemistry unlike most, both entering the league after a season of dominating at Oregon. And we’re seeing that pay off with Nix looking his way more frequently, racking up 5 targets to Franklin the past 2 weeks. The Chargers will likely be dialed into stopping Sutton and Vele so the #3 option Franklin has great value with such a low line. His speed allows him to be the recipient of short screens and he could cover this line with one big catch. He played 46% of the snaps last week which continues to increase as the season progresses. Lastly, as an underdog we can expect Denver to be in a lot of passing situations so Franklin could be the beneficiary there. Take Troy Franklin OVER 17.5 Receiving Yards for the second dub!
NBA: RJ Barrett (Raptors) UNDER 26.5 Points
On free play #3 we bounce over to the NBA where I am fading RJ Barrett’s point total. Barrett is having the best scoring output of his career this season in Toronto but 26.5 points is too high of a line. Very few NBA players have lines that high and he’s not the elite of the elite. Barrett averages 23.5 points/game on the year and Scottie Barnes is likely returning to the lineup from an ankle injury. Plus, this is a tougher matchup than you might think. Brooklyn is a top 10 defense at shutting down opposing shooting guards, allowing 21 PPG on the year. The game isn’t expected to be excessively high scoring so if the Nets can hold Barrett in check from behind the arc it will be an uphill battle for him to score 27 or more. Love the under here. Take RJ Barrett UNDER 26.5 Points!
