LAKERS @ TIMBERWOLVES 4/25/25
No two playoff games are the same, according to Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick. One could be a physical, low-scoring match. The next could be a shootout.
When the Lakers tip off against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight in Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series, it's anyone's guess what the pace will be. The teams will now play the next two games in Minneapolis after splitting the first two games of the series in Los Angeles.
The Lakers overcame the Timberwolves to win Game 2, 94-85, after losing Game 1. The 85 points were the fewest of the season for Minnesota. Through the first two games of the series, Anthony Edwards leads the Timberwolves with 23.5 points per game. He is shooting 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and 40.9 percent overall. Jaden McDaniels (16.5), Julius Randle (21.5 points per game), and Naz Reid (16.0) are also averaging double digits for the TWolves.
Luka Doncic leads the Lakers in the series with 34 points per game. He is shooting 38.9 percent from three-point range and 50 percent overall. LeBron James adds 20 points per game followed by Rui Hachimura (10 ppg) and Austin Reaves (16 ppg).
Following Game 2, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch had a film session with his team. He advised the team to enjoy playing on their home court and concentrate on the upcoming match. After making too many careless errors in their previous game, Timberwolves guard Mike Conley stated that he and his teammates needed to play a solid, fundamental game.
James stated that he and his teammates on the Lakers needed to continue to play hard on defense while figuring out how to increase their offensive effectiveness. The Lakers defense ranks 10th in the NBA allowing just over 111 points per game. Over their last 7 games, LA held 7 of its opponents to 109 points or less. Four of those opponents failed to reach 100.

COACH RICK FREE PICK:
MIKE CONLEY OVER 10.5 PTS+ASTS
Conley disappeared in Game 2 after scoring 9 points and dishing out 3 assists in Game 1. He comes back tonight. Conley has hit this prop in 8 of his last 10 games at home and 15 of his last 20 overall. Over the last 20 games, he’s averaged 12.5 PTS+ASTS. During the regular season, Conley averaged 8.2 points and 4.5 assists per game. He has hit this prop in 7 of his last 10 games against the Lakers. With Rob Dillingham out again tonight, Conley will have plenty of opportunities to hit this number.
