The Bryce Young redemption tour is well and truly underway. He is no longer just playing good football in the context of the low expectations that he set for himself last year, he is simply playing the sport's hardest position at a high level. Whilst his last two good outings have produced narrow losses to the Chiefs and Buccaneers, there are still plenty to be excited about, although it doesn’t get much tougher than going up against this week's opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Philly had a rocky start to the season, but they have rounded into form nicely, and Vic Fangio’s defense is a big reason why. His unit is giving up the fewest yards per game, with 282.8, and the fourth-fewest points per game, with 18.2. Jalen Carter and company are winning consistently at the line of scrimmage, and rookie sensations, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, have helped transform the secondary. Eagles fans will be closely monitoring Mitchell‘s injury status throughout the week, as he left last week‘s game in the third quarter.

Even if he does miss time, there is still more than enough talent in the Philly secondary to keep a lid on this Panthers offense. They are giving up just 178 passing yards per game, which is third-best in the NFL, and, considering the Panthers' most dangerous weapon seems to be a 34-year-old Adam Thielen, it’s unlikely Philadelphia are going to be too concerned, no matter how much better Young is playing.

One unit that genuinely should be scared though, is the Carolina defense, who are the next team tasked with slowing down MVP candidate Saquon Barkley. The stud running back leads the NFL with a whopping 1,499 rushing yards, and is on track to break the all-time single-season record. This is a smash spot of all smash spots for Barkley, going up against a Panthers defense that ranks dead last with 166.8 yards conceded per game on the ground.

There are plenty of other weapons to talk about on the Philadelphia offense, but, frankly, this week, it should all be about Saquon. This could be a huge week for the MVP race, as Barkley aims to become the first running back to win the award since 2012. Good luck, Carolina.
