Ohio lost to Akron on Saturday. That drops the Bobcats to 4-1 and second place in the MAC behind Akron and Miami (OH). Eastern Michigan has lost 3 of its last 4 games and is now 2-3 in the MAC and 8-9 overall.

The Bobcats are a top 50 scoring team averaging 81.1 PPG. Eastern Michigan struggles on defense and they rank 318th in the nation in scoring defense. The Eagles give up 77.6 PPG and somehow they are even worse at home. On their home floor, EMU allows 85 points per game.

io has scored 80 or more points in each of its last four games and in 11 of their 17 games this season. EMU has allowed 80 or more points in 7 of its last 10 games. Prior to beating Bowling Green on Sunday, EMU gave up 82, 105, and 90 in consecutive losses.

Another Tuesday. Another SEC showdown. The Bulldogs enter tonight's game ranked No. 14 in the nation. Tennessee comes in ranked No. 6. Both teams have had some issues recently. Mississippi State has lost 2 of its last 3 games. Tennessee has lost 2 of its last 4. That just proves that the SEC is no joke this season.

Last year, Mississippi State beat Tennessee in both meetings. That included a win on the Volunteers home floor. I'm betting that Tennessee wants to exact some revenge for those losses, especially the one at home.

Tennessee has the nation's fourth-best scoring defense. The Vols allow just 58.8 PPG. At home, the defense tightens up even more and allows just 56 PPG. Tennessee also shoots 75 percent from the free throw line which is going to help them pull away from the Bulldogs late in this game. Tennessee is 10-0 SU and 7-3 ATS at home this season.
