ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL
NOTRE DAME vs. GEORGIA (ND -1, 45.5)
JEREMIYAH LOVE ANYTIME TD
This game was postponed because of the tragic events that took place on New Year's Eve in New Orleans. The game is on for 4 p.m. today and we're sticking with our Quick Pick from yesterday. I mentioned Love yesterday who is Notre Dame's leading rusher. If you knew him, then you might have ridden him all season long in the Anytime TD market.
Love scored a rushing TD in all 13 Notre Dame games this season. He also has two more receiving touchdowns. Love has done well against other teams with good run defenses. He ran for over 100 yards against Indiana and Army recently and both of those run defenses were ranked very highly. One day won't make a difference for Love. He'll still find the end zone.
GATOR BOWL
DUKE vs. OLE MISS (MISS -17.5, 51.5)
DUKE UNDER 17.5 POINTS
The big news in this game is that Duke will not have starting QB Maalik Murphy or leading rusher Star Thomas. The Blue Devils offense wasn't very good with those guys, now they will have to forge ahead without them. Duke was 130th in Rush Success Rate this season. The Blue Devils finished 132nd in Quality Drives and ranked poorly in most offensive metrics.
The Ole Miss defense remains mostly intact for tonight's bowl game. The Rebels unit was one of the best in the nation. Ole Miss is third in the country in scoring defense, allowed 13.9 points per game. With a quarterback that has taken just one snap all season long, I would expect Duke to struggle on offense tonight.
SAM HOUSTON @ NEW MEXICO STATE (NMST -2, 147.5)
OVER 147.5
Both these teams come into tonight's game at 7-6. Sam Houston has won 3 of its last 4 and New Mexico 4-1 SU in its last five. The Aggies defense has not been all that great recently. They commit a ton o turnovers and give up way too many easy looks at the basket. New Mexico State is one of the worst teams in the nation in terms of opponent shot quality.
Sam Houston averages 81.2 points per game and I would expect they put up points on this Aggies team. On the other side, Sam Houston also isn't a great defensive team. The Bearkats rank 324th in scoring D, allowing 78.2 points per game.
The Over has cashed in 8 of Sam Houston's last 10 games and in 4 of the last 6 for New Mexico State. Expect a lot of free throws, especially at the end of each half. That will help push this total Over.
