The Seminoles traveled 2,600 miles to get to Palo Alto. They are on a three-game losing skid after having been ranked and a favorite to win the ACC. Now, they are miles from home kicking off late at night against a Stanford team that, on paper, doesn't look very good.
FSU also has some injuries to some key skill players that may or may not play tonight. That could be an issue. The other issue is that Stanford has actually played pretty well at home. They've been competitive and actually won both of their home games this season.
The Seminoles defense has not been as good over the last month. Florida State now ranks 116th in EPA/Pass Allowed and it just so happens that the strength of Stanford's offense is its passing game.
The Cardinal really have nothing to lose and they are playing at home. We know that East Coast teams have issues when traveling to the West Coast (and vice versa). This number just seems too big.
