Minnesota actually has some history of success after having a bye week under head coach PJ Fleck. In his career at Minnesota, the Golden Gophers are 16-4 SU after a bye week. They are also 4-2 ATS in six games after a bye since 2021.
Now, Oregon opened as a 19.5-point favorite and that number is now all the way up to 25.5. That is telling you something. With the low total, it also means that Minnesota is probably looking at getting crushed, similarly to what happened in their other two Big Ten road games.
Minnesota traveled to Ohio State and was absolutely rolled over in a 42-3 loss to the Buckeyes. Minnesota also traveled to Iowa and left a 41-3 loser. The Minnesota offense leaves a lot to be desired. The Gophers offense ranks in the bottom-40 in just about every major statistical category. Plus, RB Darius Taylor may be out tonight.
The Gophers team total opened at a pretty low 12.5. Early betting has taken that number down to 9.5. Don't let it scare you. Oregon's defense is elite - No. 1 in the nation against the pass, No. 2 in total defense, and No. 7 in scoring defense.
