This one is pretty simple. BYU is playing a home night game and there is a huge trend here with BYU home night games. More on that in a moment.
First, remember that BYU lost for the first time this season just last week. It was an ugly 29-7 loss to Texas Tech. The Cougars will look to bounce back from that loss.
The Cougars are playing a TCU team that has been pretty inconsistent all season. QB Josh Hoover has been outstanding, but when he's off, the Horned Frogs have lost. TCU turned the ball over at least three times in each of their losses this season.
BYU has one of the better defenses in the country. They rank in the top-20 in turnovers created and they are 16th in scoring defense, allowing 16.3 points per game.
The Cougars running game averages over 200 yards per game and it's how BYU controls the pace of a game. They can keep Hoover and TCU's offense off the field and shorten the game. The Cougars have done it before and it works.
Since 2019, BYU is 32-4 SU in home games played at night. The Cougars are also 5-0 SU at home this season.
