It's been a disappointing season overall for the Seminoles. They smacked Alabama around in the season opener and then put up ridiculous numbers against two cupcakes before the schedule caught up to them.
FSU lost a shootout to Virginia, which we know now is pretty damn good at 9-2. That loss was followed by a loss to then-Top 10 Miami followed by two more losses to Pitt (7-3) and Stanford on the road.
Since the four-game losing streak, the Seminoles are 2-1 with double-digit wins over Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. When it's on, the offense is almost unstoppable. Gus Malzahn's offense scores over 36 points per game (36.4, 17th).
NC State's defense has had its issues. The Wolfpack give up 31.6 points per game. That ranks 118th in the country. Florida State should have no troubles moving the football and the Seminoles defense is better than NC State's.
The last time these two played, NC State was a 3.5-point favorite in 2022. Three years later, FSU is a 5.5-point road favorite, despite being 5-5 on the season. That line opened at FSU -2.5. Do the math and back the Seminoles.
