The Twins return home to start this series with the Nationals. Minnesota lost both of its first two series after the All-Star break. They lost to the Dodgers 4-3 on Wednesday. The Nationals lost to Cincinnati 5-0 on Wednesday.
MacKenzie Gore will start for Washington. He's just 4-9 this season, but he does have a 3.59 ERA. He did get roughed up in his last start though. Gore allowed 8 hits, 2 home runs, and a total of 8 earned runs in just 2.1 innings in a game against the Padres on Sunday.
That could be troubling for the Nats who have just 4 wins in their last 11 games and they are just 1-5 in their last 6 on the road. The issue is that Minnesota has really been crushing LHP over the last month. The Twins are No. 1 in MLB in OPS against left-handed pitchers over the last 30 days.
