Mitchell Parker starts for the Nationals and he pitched against Milwaukee in that last series. He gave up 8 runs total, 7 of which were earned, and took an 8-3 loss. That game was in Milwaukee though, and Parker pitches better when he's at home. For the record, Parker is 7-10 with a 4.91 ERA for the season.
At home, Parker's ERA is 3.92 and in his rookie season last year, it was the same. High ERA on the road, low ERA at home. In his last home start, Parker pitched 6 innings, allowed 2 earned runs, and picked up a win over San Diego. That win gives Parker two in his last two starts.
Jose Quintan starts for the Brewers. His numbers look good - 7-4, 3.50 ERA. But, dig deeper and you'll find an xERA of 4.78 and an xFIP of 4.76. Add in a low strikeout rate and a walk rate that is getting closer to 10 percent, and I'll pass on Quintana. The Brewers have won 15 of their last 19 games. Why aren't they bigger favorites?
