We cashed a parlay on the Tigers last night - Detroit ML + Tigers Over 3.5 Runs. I figured it would be a tight one even with Skubal on the mound for Detroit. The Tigers had to go to extra innings to get the 4th run and the win.
Tonight, we should see a lot of runs. Charlie Morton starts for Detroit. He's a tough one to gauge. He pitched well in June with a 2.88 ERA that month, but he's still a guy that can get dinged. He's 7-10 and his ERA for the season is 5.48.
He did face Minnesota twice this season when he was still with Baltimore. He only pitched 4 innings in one start and 3 in the other and allowed a total of 7 earned runs. For anyone keeping score, that's an ERA of 5.14.
Pierson Ohl starts for Minnesota. This will be just his third start of the season. He's 0-2 with a 7.18 ERA. One of his starts this year was against Detroit. He only pitched 2.2 innings and he gave up 3 homers and 4 earned runs.
