We missed on this one last night. The Marlins jumped out to a 6-2 lead after five innings but couldn't hold on and eventually lost 8-6. Tonight, it's a bounce-back spot with Edward Cabrera going for the Marlins.
He's allowed 1 earned run in each of his last 3 starts and 2 earned runs or less in 11 of his last 12 starts. In his career, Cabrera has four career starts against the Braves. He has a strikeout percentage of 32 percent. He's had success against Atlanta hitters who have been inconsistent as of late.
Opposite Cabrera is Bryce Elder who has had issues all season long. He's 4-8 overall and his ERA is 6.03. At home, somehow he's worse. Opponents hit .332 off of him and his ERA at Truist Park is 6.54.
As mentioned, the Braves offense is inconsistent. They've had to play without Ronald Acuna Jr. and Austin Riley, two of their best hitters, recently. Although they scored 8 runs last night, Atlanta totaled 7 combined in the three games prior.
Miami has won 10 of its last 15 games and 14 of its last 20 on the road. The Braves are just 4-11 in their last 15 games.
