UConn fell apart at the Maui Invitational last week. The Huskies lost three straight to Memphis, Colorado, and Dayton. They bounced back with a home win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday. The Huskies played that game without leading scorer Alex Karaban. They will play without him tonight again.
Remember, this is UConn at home where they have won 20 straight games. And, don't forget this is a team that has won 17 of its last 20 games. Baylor is just 1-9 SU the last ten times that the Bears have played as an underdog. I like coach Dan Hurley to get the Huskies back on track and pick up a big early season win tonight.
ABILENE CHRISTIAN @ NEW MEXICO STATE (NMST -1.5, 137)

This is one where I think the total is just too low. Both of these teams average well over 70 points per game and both defenses allow over 70 points a game. The bigger issue though is fouls. New Mexico State ranks fifth in the country in fouls per game. Abilene Christian is 17th. There are going to be a lot of free throws tonight.
Three of ACU's last four games have gone Over the total. Four of New Mexico State's last seven games have gone Over tonight's total. Abilene Christian is a top-50 shooting team and they average close to 80 points per game. As I said, we should see a lot of free throws tonight and more free throws equals more points.
LA LAKERS @ MIAMI (MIA -1.5, 216.5)
HEAT -1.5
The Lakers on the road are almost an automatic fade. There are two different Lakers teams. There is home LA which is 7-3 SU this season and then there is road LA which is 5-6. The Heat defense is always tough to crack and Miami has beaten the Lakers in 4 of the last 5 meetings.
Jimmy Butler is questionable tonight for the Heat. Whether he plays or not, the Heat should prevail. Last year in games without Butler, Miami held its own and went 13-9. Don't forget, the Lakers have not been good against the number lately. LA is 1-8 ATS in its last nine games.
