LA RAMS @ SAN FRANCISCO (SF -3, 49.5)
3Q OVER 9.5
The Rams have won 6 of their last 8 games and they control their playoff destiny. They will play each team in the NFC West over the final four weeks of the season. Tonight, it's San Francisco. The 49ers have had their share of major injury issues all season long. Tonight is no different.
Last week, the Rams beat Buffalo 44-42 and San Francisco destroyed Chicago 38-13. These two offenses could light it up again tonight. The books seem to think that is likely with the total at 49.5. Where I see the value though is on the 3Q total.
Remember, the third quarter is all about coaching and halftime adjustments. The Rams Sean McVay and the 49ers Kyle Shanahan are two of the very best at making those adjustments. In the last five third quarters played by each team, the 3Q Over has cashed 8 times. The Rams are 11-2 to the 3Q Over and the Niners are 9-4.
TORONTO @ MIAMI (MIA -10.5, 224.5)
TOR (1Q) +3.5
These two teams just played twice to end November and begin December. The two teams split with the home team winning each game. Toronto is absolute garbage on the road. The Raptors are 1-11 SU in road games, but one thing they do is cover. Toronto is 7-5 ATS in road games and they cover early. The Raptors are 14-11 against the first quarter spread.
The Heat? They tend to not cover early. Miami is 7-14 against the first quarter spread this season. At home, the Heat are 4-7 ATS in the first quarter. In both games this season, the Raptors led after the first quarter. I don't know if they will have the lead tonight, but Toronto plays hard enough to keep it close early and cover the first quarter spread.
NEW MEXICO STATE @ TEXAS (TEX -19.5, 138.5)
OVER 138.5
New Mexico State just beat their rival New Mexico in a high-scoring game that saw both teams in the 80s. The Aggies have now given up 78 or more points in 3 of their last 4 games. Those 3 games went Over the total.
Texas averages just over 80 points per game this season. That number spikes to 86 when the Longhorns are playing at home. The Over is 3-1-1 in Longhorns home games this season. In fact, 10 of the last 14 Texas home games have gone Over the total.
The Aggies scored 73 points per game, but they will go up against a top 25 defense in Texas. The Horns allow 63 points per game, but I think the Aggies can score enough to help push this one Over tonight's total.
