JACKSONVILLE @ BUFFALO (BUF -5.5, 45.5)
JAGUARS +5.5
Buffalo comes into this one off of a big win over Miami last week. The Bills also get the benefit of some extra rest having played last Thursday night. The Jags are off to an 0-2 start, but I don't expect QB Trevor Lawrence to continue playing so poorly. He's only completing 50 percent of his passes so far this season.
This is a huge trend spot that I really like. Teams that start a season 0-2 that are playing a team with at least one win are 53-32-2 ATS since 2020. That's a 62 percent winning percentage. That winning percentage jumps to 73% when the 0-2 team was favored in its previous game...like Jacksonville.
What about the extra rest for Buffalo? Well, last year, the Bills played four games where they had a rest advantage over their opponent. Buffalo went 1-3 ATS in those games. The Jags play better tonight and keep this one close.
WASHINGTON @ CINCINNATI (CIN -7.5, 46.5)
OVER 46.5
The Commanders are 1-1 thanks to a win over the Giants last week. Cincinnati is off to an 0-2 start for the third straight season. Not for long though. The Bengals should light up what is probably the worst defense in the NFL. Washington is already 27th in the NFL in scoring defense, allowing 27.5 points per game. They are 31st in yards per play, giving up an average of 6.2 yards per snap.
Washington didn't do much to upgrade what was already a bad defense. Last week was actually the first time in their last ten games that the Commanders gave up less than 27 points. Seven of their last 10 have gone Over the total. For Cincy, 6 of the last 8 have cashed on the Over. Joe Burrow gets Tee Higgins back tonight too. This should be a big night for Cincy and the Commanders will likely contribute to push this total Over.
WASHINGTON @ CINCINNATI (CIN -7.5, 46.5)
BRIAN ROBINSON ANYTIME TD
One thing that Washington is pretty good at is offense. Quarterback Jayden Daniels should be the best of all the rookie quarterbacks this season. The Commanders offensive coordinator is Kliff Kingsbury. If you know anything about him, his offense is based on the Air Raid. While Air Raid offenses like the throw the ball all over the place, running backs typically have their fair share of success too.
Brian Robinson had 133 yards rushing on 17 carries last week in the win over the Giants. He has 173 yards total for the season, but what he doesn't have is a touchdown. He's had 8 red-zone carries this season but hasn't cracked into the end zone. Tonight, he goes up against a Cincinnati defense that has surrendered the fifth-most rushing yards so far in 2024. I'll take a shot on Robinson getting his first TD tonight.
