SEAHAWKS @ CARDINALS 9/24/25

As they get ready for Thursday night's game against Seattle in Glendale, Arizona, the struggling offense of the Arizona Cardinals could definitely use RB James Conner on a short week. However, the Cardinals (2-1) will have to get by without Conner who was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday after suffering a foot injury during Sunday's 16–15 loss to San Francisco.

"A captain, one of your leaders. "You regret that it occurred," Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon remarked. "I know he'll recover with the correct mindset, but I feel awful.

"We're going to have to work together to pick up that slack, both as individuals and as players, honestly. But like all of our guys who have been harmed, that's a shame. It's difficult to replace him, but we must, given the kind of player and person he is. Therefore, that is what we will do.

Trey Benson, a second-year back with a team-high 125 yards on 21 carries this season, will be the Cardinals' mainstay at running back. Over the previous four-plus seasons, Conner, who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2018 and 2021, ran for over 3,700 yards and 38 touchdowns.

The Cardinals were within a last-second field goal of beating the 49ers last week even without Conner. The offense, which hasn’t been great, struggled last week, especially after Conner went out. Arizona will need to rely on a defense that gives up 17 points per game, which ties them for fifth place in the league.

"I told the coaches, the sky's not falling, there's no panic in my game," Gannon stated. "I told the team that, and my confidence hasn't wavered. The game was lost by us. We still have time to fix the things we didn't do well enough during the first three weeks.

Following a season-opening loss to San Francisco, the Seahawks (2-1) have now won two straight games. This includes Sunday's 44–13 victory over visiting New Orleans, in which rookie Tory Horton had a touchdown reception and returned a punt a franchise-high 95 yards. Additionally, for the first time in 234 games, the Seahawks blocked a punt against the Saints.

OT Josh Jones and FB Robbie Ouzts both sustained ankle injuries against the Saints. Jones was ruled out of Thursday's game, and Ouzts was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday. Safety Nick Emmanwori is doubtful due to an ankle injury that kept him out of the last two games. Guard Anthony Bradford (back), linebacker Boye Mafe (toe), and running back Zach Charbonnet (foot), who missed last Sunday's game, are all doubtful for Seattle

Safety Julian Love (hamstring) and cornerback Devon Witherspoon (knee) will play for the Seahawks. Both have been to the Pro Bowl.

CB Will Johnson is questionable due to a groin injury, and wide receiver Zay Jones has been ruled out for the Cardinals due to a concussion. In addition to tackle Kelvin Beachum (knee/rest), linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither (elbow), cornerback Darren Hall (ankle), and guard Will Hernandez (knee), starting left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) and left guard Evan Brown (ankle) are all doubtful.

Last season, he completed at least 20 passes in 12 of the 18 games in which he played. He’ll go up against a Cardinals defense that has allowed 33.9 passing attempts per game since the beginning of last season. In all three games this season, Arizona allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete well Over 20 passes. Even New Orleans Spencer Rattler had 27 completions against the Cardinals.
