SUNS @ SIXERS 1/6/25

Phoenix is struggling. The Suns are looking to turn the tide as they face the Philadelphia 76ers in their continuing three-game journey on the road, following seven losses in their last eight games. Their 8-1 record at the start of the season has dwindled to a 7-17 since then, signaling a deep-seated problem. Even with the likes of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, the expected turnaround has yet to materialize despite their recent appearances on the court.

Bradley Beal verbalizes the team's frustration, expressing their dissatisfaction and determination to improve. The Suns fell in their recent game against the Indiana Pacers, 126-108, despite Durant and Booker's combined 45 points, 16 assists, and 15 rebounds. Beal, unfortunately, underperformed.

The Suns are setting their sights on their game against the Sixers, a team that has been gradually picking up pace after starting the season 3-14 due to a series of injuries. The Sixers have since gained momentum, securing 11 victories in their last 16 games, and recently besting the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 123-94.

The Sixers shot 51.2% from the floor and hit 15 three-pointers in the win over the Nets. That was a much better showing than the 139-105 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Paul George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey have all been showcasing their skills, boosting the team's morale and improving their on-court chemistry.

George confidently hits 3 three-pointers in three consecutive games, while Joel Embiid has made double-digit free throws in four straight games. Maxey also managed to score multiple three-pointers in 12 games in a row. In their previous game this season, the Suns took a narrow victory over the Sixers, with Durant delivering the winning shot. The Suns won 118-116.

In addition to being 1-7 SU in their last 8 games, the Suns are also 2-7 ATS in their last nine. They are, however, 9-2 SU in their last 11 games against Philadelphia. The Suns offense has really struggled lately and, as a result, the Under has cashed in 6 straight games for Phoenix.

COACH RICK FREE PICK:

: KEVIN DURANT OVER 1.5 THREE-POINTERS

Durant averages 27.6 points per game. He takes an average of 5.7 threes per game and hits 2.3 on 40.9 percent shooting from behind the arc. Durant has gone Over this number in 13 of his last 17 games. In the game against Philly in November, Durant went 2-for-5 from three-point range. He’s hit multiple threes in 4 of the last 6 games against the Sixers. If the Suns are going to get back on track, they’ll need a big game from Durant and that means multiple threes.
