NFL ODDS, NFL PREDICTIONS, NFL PREVIEWS

Tennessee vs. Los Angeles | Sunday, November 10, 2024
The Chargers have now posted two impressive all round performances back-to-back, forcing themselves to a 5-3 record at the midpoint of the season. In wins over both the Browns and the Saints, the Bolts have held their opponent to 10 points or less while posting at least 26 points of their own.
Going into Week 10 though, they are a little banged up, with Khalil Mack missing practice and Joey Bosa also limited on the defensive side. Denzel Perryman didn’t practice either, and corner Kristian Fulton is at risk of missing the matchup against the team that drafted him.
Tennessee are also beaten up, so much so that head coach Brian Callahan ran a shortened practice session on Wednesday. Will Levis is working his way back and may return this weekend, while the likes of Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard, Tyler Boyd, Tyjae Spears and Amani Hooker were all limited.
The Titans lost their center Lloyd Cushenberry to Injured Reserve after last week's Patriots game, a significant loss that could cause a wealth of issues with an already shaky line. No matter the quarterback, Tennessee are likely to face continued pressure, a major factor in this game.
The Chargers have been winning on turnovers, with 1.6 takeaways per game to just 0.5 giveaways. Jim Harbaugh has them protecting the football and keeping it away from their opponents, allowing the defense to stay fresh and make an impact when called upon. They’re a top 10 team in sack percentage, while only allowing 6.5 yards per pass, good for 5th in the NFL.
Offensively, the intent is clear, using the run to set up the pass and controlling possession as a result. The only problem is the execution of that philosophy, which has been inconsistent with the current crop of offensive linemen and backs. The Chargers are expecting to have Gus Edwards back, which will support JK Dobbins efforts in the backfield, but it's just not clicking quite yet.
They’re 25th in yards per rush (4.0), 20th in rushing yards per game (114.5), and 23rd in rushing touchdowns per game, at just 0.8 on average.
The Titans were sellers at the trade deadline, allowing Deandre Hopkins to leave for greener grass with the Kansas City Chiefs. In his absence, Calvin Ridley becomes the clear WR1, while both Tyler Boyd and Chig Okonkwo have contributed 20+ catches so far this season.
The story for the Titans so far in 2024 has been their defense, keeping them in games despite a lackluster offensive output. They are allowing fewer yards per game (269.1) than any team in the league, as well as giving up the league's second best third down conversion rate (31.25%).
With their defensive prowess in mind, and how stout they are against the pass (155.8 yards allowed per game), I’d expect something of a defensive showdown in this one come Sunday
