The Denver Broncos found it in Week 3, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers paid the price. They put up 352 yards of offense, a vast improvement from the 231 they had in Week 1 against Seattle, and Bo Nix and co are certainly headed in the right direction.

The Bucs had just beaten the Detroit Lions in a very impressive showing in Week 2, but Denver shut them down, allowing just 7 points with a tremendous defensive performance.

Denver had two takeaways in the game, with safety Brandon Jones picking off Baker Mayfield while undercutting a route on the sideline. Bo Nix took care of the football offensively, and those things culminated in a well earned and much needed win for Sean Paytons rebuild with the Broncos.

They still have plenty to figure out though. Despite the 26-7 win, the Broncos converted on just 4 of 13 third down attempts, and their percentage for the season sits at 25%, 28th in the NFL. They are in the bottom third in every scoring and yardage category, including their one touchdown a game putting them 29th overall.

It’s still unclear who the primary running back is too, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Javonte Williams traded before the deadline. Sean Payton wanted him to slim down for the season, and he did, but in Week 3 he posted just five carries for 12 yards, while Tyler Badie was the hot hand, with nine carries for 70 yards in the win.

The real star is their defense, with Denver allowing just 15.3 points per game, and 259 total yards. That puts them third in the NFL, and if the offense can get closer to their production as a unit, this could still be a good football team.

As for the Jets, Aaron Rodgers performance against New England was phenomenal, almost flawless, and the Patriots had no answer for it on Thursday Night Football. They have had an extended week to prepare as a result, and we’ll now see what was a very efficient offense go up against one of the leagues best performing defenses this year so far.

The Patriots had Christian Gonzalez shadow Garrett Wilson the entire game, leading to five catches for just 33 yards, but he still scored a touchdown on a wow factor throw from Aaron Rodgers against tight coverage. This week it’ll be Patrick Surtain, one of the games premium corners, and Rodgers connection with #5 will be tested once again.

The budding star in New York though is former Wisconsin Badger Braelon Allen at running back, who’s emerged as a dangerous threat in rotation with Breece Hall. The Jets have one of the best running back duos in football, and Allen has been explosive when he gets out on the field, quickly seeing more time in the Jets backfield.

Bo Nix has his work cut out with the Jets defense, who gave up just three points against the Patriots, and rank in the top ten in every major defensive category. They’re allowing 150 passing yards per game, 4th in the NFL, and Sauce Gardner will be doing his best to take Courtland Sutton out of this game.
