CLIPPERS @ SUNS 1/27/25
In their third encounter of the season, the Phoenix Suns are vying for their fourth successive win against the LA Clippers. The Clippers are fresh off a five-game stint on their home court in which they went 3-2 SU and 4-1 ATS. After clinching a victory against the LA Lakers (116-102), enduring consecutive defeats to the Chicago Bulls (112-99) and Boston Celtics (117-113), they bounced back with victories against the Washington Wizards (110-93) and Milwaukee Bucks (127-117).
In their recent clash with the Bucks, the Clippers emerged victorious, despite the odds. Known for their frequent turnovers, the Clippers improved and committed only seven turnovers against Milwaukee. James Harden stole the show with an impressive 40 points and nine assists and Norman Powell bagged 33 points. The Clippers bank on their solid defense, which allows only 108.1 points per 100 possessions, the second-lowest in the NBA.
On the other hand, the Phoenix Suns have been on a roll, having won seven of their last nine games. However, their run has not been without hiccups. The Suns are just 3-5-1 ATS. In their last game against the Wizards, the Suns landed a 119-109 victory despite a below-par field shooting percentage of 44.4%. Kevin Durant proved instrumental with 29 points, while Nick Richards scored 20 points and added 19 rebounds.
Richards has been in fine form this season, with an average of 13.3 points and 12.3 rebounds in his four games. With an offensive efficiency of 115.4 points per 100 possessions, Phoenix ranks tenth in the league. However, their defensive efficiency (116.3) ranks a lowly 24th.
Historically, the Suns have had the upper hand at the Intuit Dome, with two victories against the Clippers (116-113 and 125-119) in October. However, since then, the Clippers have displayed excellent consistency compared to the Suns. The Suns' last four victories were secured against less competitive teams, namely, Washington, Brooklyn, and Detroit.
Despite the Suns showcasing an impressive three-point shooting percentage (37.4%) and three-point rate (.432), ranking them seventh and eleventh in the league, respectively, the Clippers' high-level three-point defense is a force to reckon with. The Clippers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games and 4-1 ATS in their last five trips to Phoenix.

OVER 223.5
This total ticked up over two points for good reason. The Suns and Clippers both trend Under. For the Suns, 13 of their last 17 games have gone Under the total. The Clippers have seen the total go Under in 12 of their last 18. But, when the two play each other, the Over is 6-1 in the last seven and the two teams have averaged more than 235 points per game..
