James Harden (Clippers) UNDER 23.5 Points
After a huge NFL Sunday going 3-1 on free props we are back at it but starting off in the NBA. I really like a fade tonight of James Harden as they face the Boston Celtics. His point total currently sits at O/U 23.5 points. The Clippers leading scorer is Norman Powell who is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. I'm going to assume he's not playing and if he does that only helps the under here. The Beard averaged 20.6 points/game on the season and this Celtics defense is not going to let him beat them. Boston is a top 10 scoring defense and is ranked 4th in opponent 3-pt percentage. As long as they can play smart, physical defense and limit Harden's free throw attempts he should stay around 15-20 points tonight. The under here has gone under in 7 of his last 8 games and 11 of the last 13. The only two times it went over was by 1/2 point with him putting up 24 points twice. OG Anunoby (Knicks) UNDER 5.5 Rebounds
For free play #2 we stick with NBA hoops and go to the intriguing Knicks vs Nuggets matchup. I love OG Anunoby to go UNDER 5.5 rebounds tonight. Anunoby is averaging 5.4 rebounds/game this season which is significantly up from his last 2 seasons playing similar minutes, where he averaged 3.9 RPG and 4.4 RPG. I really think his rebounding numbers are falsely inflated to start this season and should trend downward moving forward. And the analytics back me here. They have him projected for 4.7 rebounds tonight, a favorable advantage on the posted line of 5.5. A last important factor for this bet is the matchup. The Nuggets are just SUPER solid at rebounding the ball from all 5 positions. They hold opposing small forwards to the 2nd fewest rebounds per game in the entire NBA. Expect a close game with a slower pace of play, limiting rebounding potential. Take OG Anunoby UNDER 5.5 Rebounds to the window!
Ladd McConkey (Chargers) UNDER 5.5 Receptions
Our NFL free prop today is fading rookie Ladd McConkey of the Chargers. Anyone that has followed me knows that I have been a BIG supporter of McConkey throughout his first season, cashing his overs with regularity. However, I finally see this as a spot to go against him. There are just too many factors suggesting the under here. First, oddsmakers have caught up to Ladd's statistical ability and are now more sharply projecting his catches and yards after his career performance last week. Plus, he's coming into this Monday night matchup with a questionable tag due to a shoulder injury sustained last week against the Bengals. I expect him to play but not to be at his full capacity. This could lead to less snaps and less ability to create separation and catch contested passes. I also like the Ravens defense to key on Ladd and shut down Mcconkey despite their bad passing game numbers this year. They know he's become Herbert's safety net so if they can limit him they should be able to force some punts. Lock and load. Take Ladd McConkey UNDER 5.5 receptions!
