Ja Morant (Grizzlies) OVER 8.5 Assists
We are seeing the board clearly and are currently on a 3-0 free play run. Tonight in the NBA I want you guys to take Ja Morant OVER 8.5 assists. Morant is balling to start the season and his assists line continues to lag behind his stats. He’s putting up 9.7 assists/game, dishing it with consistency, and he’s covered this line in 6 of 7 games this season, including 5 straight. I see no reason for this to change against the Lakers in an expected close game. Morant is going to be on the floor all game and should hit double digits here in assists. Lastly, he should be able to work the floor being much more athletic than D’Angelo Russell. And LA allowed 9.91 assists/game to opposing point guards. Lock this in. Take Ja Morant over 8.5 assists!
Buddy Hield (Warriors) UNDER 15.5 Points
I’m fading Buddy Hield of the Warriors here and I absolutely love this play. This line is extremely sharp and likely a public fade spot to take the under. Hield’s point line sits at O/U 15 & ½ tonight despite him averaging 21.9PPG on the year. When oddsmakers post a prop line more than 6 full points below a season average, even with just 7 games of data, you know it’s for a reason. For starters, Hield is way above his scoring output the last 2 seasons despite similar minute share. Yes, he’s on a different roster but water will find its level with such a streaky shooter. He’s hitting 12% better on 3-point shooting than last season and is historic with his points/minute on the court which is simply not sustainable. Plus, Steph Curry is back from his injury and will demand the ball and get his 15-20 shot attempts/game, taking away some of Hield’s opportunities. Lastly and maybe most importantly is Boston’s perimeter defense. They defend the 3-ball incredibly well at home, ranking 4th in the NBA. He’s not going to get easy looks tonight. Jalen Brunson OVER 28.5 Points
For free play #3 tonight I want you guys to take Jalen Brunson to go over 28.5 points as the Knicks face the Hawks. I love what oddsmakers are telling us with this line. He’s averaging 26 points/game on the year but has started to go off lately posting 36 and 29 points his last two times out. With a line at 28.5 they’re showing us they expect a 30+ point outing tonight. And I agree, particularly with Brunson facing Trae Young. We successfully backed De’Aaron Fox last week in a matchup against Young and we will continue doing so until the Hawks backcourt proves they can defend at a high level.
