With the MLB’s best record, the Detroit Tigers host the Seattle Mariners in Game 1 of their weekend series. Both teams look to end the first half of the 2025 season on a high note before the All-Star break. The All-Star game is next Tuesday, July 15, at Truist Park, the home of the Atlanta Braves.

Earlier this season, in early April, Seattle and Detroit faced off. The Tigers took two of three games and are 7-3 in their last ten meetings with the Mariners. In those ten games, the under was 7-3.

Luis Castillo, a right-hander, will start for Seattle against the Tigers tonight. Tarik Skubal, Detroit's ace, will start against Seattle tonight. The 28-year-old southpaw recorded ten strikeouts in seven innings while holding Cleveland to three hits and no runs in his most recent start. He is 8-0 with a 2.06 ERA and 0.82 WHIP at Comerica Park (ten starts), and he is 10-2 with a 2.02 ERA and 0.81 WHIP this season (18 starts).
