MIAMI @ SYRACUSE (MIA -11, 67)
OVER 67
These two teams throw the ball all over the place. They rank No. 1 and No. 2 in the nation in passing. Miami throws for 363.8 yards per game. Syracuse averages 356.1 passing yards per game. Syracuse QB Kyle McCord leads the nation in passing and Miami's Cam Ward is fourth.
The Hurricanes lead the nation in scoring, averaging 43.6 points per game. Syracuse isn't too shabby in that department, ranking 36th with an average of 30.7 points per game. The Orange also have a pretty suspect defense, especially against the run. They allow 5.1 yards per carry and Miami actually ranks No. 1 in the FBS in Rush Success Rate.
Miami's defense has allowed 28 or more points in 5 of the Hurricanes last 7 games. Playing indoors in Syracuse, this one should turn into a track meet.
NEW MEXICO @ HAWAII (NM -3, 61.5)
NEW MEXICO -3
Bronco Mendenhall can coach. You can see it in New Mexico's turnaround this season. The Lobos have won their last two games in a row, including last week's thrilling upset of Washington State.
Hawaii has lost two in a row and the home field advantage usually enjoyed by the Rainbow Warriors just isn't there this season. Hawaii is 3-3 at home this season. The offense struggles, ranking 124th in rushing and 114th in scoring.
New Mexico is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven games. The Lobos are also 6-2 SU and ATS in their last 8 games against Hawaii. New Mexico gets it done on the road where the Lobos have covered 4 of 6 games this season.
OREGON vs. ALABAMA (ALA -5.5, 165.5)
ALABAMA -5
It's the championship game of the Players Era Festival. Alabama beat Houston in overtime and Rutgers to get to the final. Both of those wins were by 5 points. Oregon beat Texas A&M and San Diego State to get here. I don't think the Ducks can keep up with Alabama. Oregon has scored 85 points or more just once in seven games this season.
Alabama's bigs are much more physical than Oregon's and I think they will control the interior on both ends of the floor. The Ducks will also have a hard time with the Tide's depth. Alabama has only covered once in its last five games. I am going to buy the hook here just in case, but I think the Tide outruns the Ducks in this one.
