CALIFORNIA @ HAWAII (HAW -1, 51)
This season, Hawaii has excelled at home, finishing 6-1 SU/ATS. The Warriors scored victories against San Diego State (38-6) and Stanford (23-20), two teams that beat Cal this season. After nine seasons, Justin Wilcox was fired by the Golden Bears, who struggled away from Berkeley, going 3-3 SU/ATS.
There will be a good quarterback matchup. Cal's Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele exploded for 330 yards and completed 31 of 40 passes for four touchdowns in an upset win over SMU to close the regular season. Without a doubt, the SMU game was his best performance of the year.
Micah Alejado of Hawaii has averaged 277.4 yards per game to lead the Warriors offense. He does, however, have five interceptions in his last six games. In terms of passing yards, both offenses are in the top 25, with the Rainbow Warriors ranking seventh in the country with 293.3 YPG. Both teams do not run the ball well and Cal manages just 67.8 yards per game, which is the lowest total in NCAA football.
Additionally, both defenses have shown signs of weakness, giving up 5.6 yards per play. At least Hawaii's defense can get off the field, allowing just 4.4 third down conversions per game. Also, Hawaii's pass defense has allowed fewer than 184 passing yards at home.
Hawaii is a strong underdog at home - 8-0-1 ATS in their last 9 home games. That's one of the reasons why the line flipped in favor of Hawaii.
