Cole Ragans goes up against Carlos Rodon in this one. Rodon allowed 2 ER or less in 21 of his 32 starts this season. That includes each of the last five starts. In those last five, Rodon went 2-0 with a 2.20 ERA. One of the five starts was against the Royals on Sept. 9. Rodon gave up 2 ER in a 10-4 victory.

Ragans went 11-9 with a 3.14 ERA this season. He has allowed 2 ER or fewer in each of his last five starts. One of those starts was against the Yankees. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 ER. It was a no-decision for him and the Yankees went on to win that game 4-3 in 11 innings.

Ragans did pitch in the wild card series against Baltimore. He pitched 6 innings and didn't allow a run in a 1-0 win over the Orioles. After a high-scoring Game 1, expect this one to be a dogfight...especially early on.

It seems like all you hear is how the Chiefs are all hurt. WR Rashee Rice is the latest. He's out along with Hollywood Brown and Isaiah Pacheco. The Chiefs offense is like a MASH unit. What about New Orleans?

The Saints will be without Swiss army knife Taysom Hill. Starting center Cesar Ruiz is out. His backup, Shane Lemieux, is also out. Putting together a patchwork offensive line doesn't work at any level. The thing is...I don't trust either one of these teams to cover the spread. When the Chiefs are -3 or shorter or an underdog, Patrick Mahomes is 25-8-1 ATS. When the number is above 3, he's 38-43-3 ATS.

Derek Carr just happens to be the least profitable NFL quarterback against the spread in road games since 2017. Carr is 24-35-2 ATS in such games. So, here's the deal. I'm playing the Chiefs moneyline. If you don't like the price, then buy the spread down to -3. Kansas City is 10-0 SU in its last 10 games and 5-0 SU in its last 5 at home.

ALVIN KAMARA ANYTIME TD

With Hill out for the Saints, Kamara should get a few more touches. He's been outstanding thus far for New Orleans. He has scored 5 rushing touchdowns and has 1 receiving touchdown. Incredibly, Kamara has accounted for 50 percent of all of the Saints touchdowns this season.

Kamara has scored in 3 of the Saints 4 games this year. He is No. 5 in the NFL right now in red zone carries with 17. I would expect he gets a few tonight as the Saints lean heavily on him for offensive production. I think that'll get him in the end zone at least once tonight.
