Sale has great numbers against Arizona too. He's made four starts and five appearances total against the Diamondbacks. Sale is 4-0 with a 2.57 ERA. The DBacks have lost 9 of their last 12 games and 5 of their last 6 on the road. Against Atlanta, the Braves have held the upper hand recently with 8 wins in the last 12 meetings. Sale actually beat Arizona back on April 25th. He pitched 5 innings and allowed just one earned run.
Merrill Kelly starts for the Diamondbacks. He's had a rough couple of starts, but he still has a 5-2 record and a 3.78 ERA. He got dinged for 8 earned runs in his last two starts, but Kelly should rebound against a team he's been successful against.
In 20 innings against the Braves, Kelly has 32 strikeouts and a 3.55 ERA. He faced the Braves on April 26, pitched 6.0 innings and allowed just 2 ER. Arizona went on to lose that game in extra innings.
Atlanta trends Under (22-32-5 for the season, 8-18-3 at home) this season. The same is true in the First Five where the Braves O/U record is 24-32-3 and at home that mark is 8-15-5. With these two pitchers and both teams recent shortcomings, this one stays Under in the First Five.
