Bryce Miller gets the start for the Mariners and that spells trouble. His ERA in the month of May? 9.69. He's given up 14 earned runs in his last 13 innings of work (three starts). The Mariners lost two of those three starts. The Mariners are also coming off a series where they were swept at home by the Baltimore Orioles.
The Angels, on the other hand, have been playing well as of late. They just took two of three games from the Red Sox. It would have been a sweep if the Angels bullpen wasn't so bad. The offense was great though, scoring 20 runs in three games.
The Angels bullpen is the only scary thing here. They rank 28th in bullpen ERA, but all of their best arms, including Kenley Jansen, will be available tonight. With the Mariners slumping and the Angels hitting the ball, I like the home upset.
