The NFL's top touchdown-reception leader plays for the Los Angeles Rams. The NFL leader in receiving yards play for the Seattle Seahawks. When the two teams square off in an NFC West game tonight in Seattle, only one of those players might suit up.
Davante Adams, who has 14 touchdown receptions, may be sidelined for the Rams (11-3) due to a persistent left hamstring problem and a knee issue. On Wednesday, he was listed as doubtful for tonight’s game. Adams, who worsened the injury while going a deep route in Los Angeles' 41-34 victory over visiting Detroit on Sunday, would probably not be evaluated until game time, according to coach Sean McVay.
"I'm not ruling anyone out," McVay declared on Tuesday. "His hamstring just hurt. He has been dealing with it, and he's as tough as they come. He felt it a little bit. wish to be able to observe how it appears given the time we have available."
Adams has already experienced hamstring problems twice this season, his first with the Rams. He has 789 yards on 60 catches.
With a league-high 37 touchdown passes and 3,722 yards in the air—second only to Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys' 3,931—Matthew Stafford, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Los Angeles team, is a strong candidate for the league MVP.
With their 21-19 victory over Seattle at home on November 16, the Rams, who have won eight of their last nine games and two straight, are ahead of the Seahawks (11-3) in the NFC West. Sam Darnold was intercepted four times by Los Angeles, but Seattle still had a chance to win it in the end. Jason Myers' last-second 61-yard field goal effort just missed wide right.
The Seahawks defeated the visiting Indianapolis Colts 18–16 last Sunday thanks to a franchise-high six field goals from Myers. Since the Rams loss, Seattle had won four straight games.
OT Charles Cross was ruled out for the game on Wednesday. He suffered a hamstring injury during Myers' game-winning kick last week.
With 1,541 receiving yards, Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seahawks leads the NFL, but the offense as a whole has stagnated last week. With the exception of an interception return for a touchdown, Seattle's offense has only managed six first-half points in each of its last three games. Against a Rams club that has scored 40 points or more in each of its last two games, the Seahawks will probably need more than that.
Kenneth Walker III managed only 17 yards on nine rushing attempts as Seattle recorded a season-low 50 yards.
With opponents scoring only 17.3 points per game, Seattle's defense is second in the league in points allowed per game.
After his wife Veronika gave birth to their baby, Christian Alexander McVay, on Monday morning, McVay acknowledged that he hasn't slept much this week.
Braden Fiske, a defensive end with the Rams, is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.

Stafford is a candidate for the NFL MVP. He’s been dominant this season and has 37 touchdown passes to go with 3,722 yards. The TD passes leads the NFL and the yardage is second. Stafford has thrown at least two TD passes in 8 straight games and in 11 of the 13 Rams games this season. Seattle has one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Seahawks are 7th against the pass, but Stafford threw two TDs against them in the first meeting this season. He also threw two TDs in last year’s game in Seattle.
