Today’s MLB schedule includes an interleague matchup at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, featuring the Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers won Game 1 of the series as Shohei Ohtani pitched three innings and Dustin May came on to give LA 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball in a 5-2 Dodgers win.

The Minnesota Twins played the lowly Colorado Rockies on the road for three games to begin the second half of the season. On Sunday afternoon, the Twins defeated the Rockies 7-1 after two disappointing losses of 6-4 and 10-6.

Joe Ryan struck out 11 runs in seven innings of work on Sunday, while Royce Lewis hit a couple of solo home runs. The Twins' bullpen is one of the best in baseball with a 3.51 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and a .277 batting average against.

On Tuesday night, Simeon Woods Richardson will take the mound for the Twins. This season, the 24-year-old right-hander has made 14 starts and one relief appearance, pitching 73 innings. He has recorded a 3.95 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. In his last four appearances, he has pitched 19.2 innings and given up just two earned runs on 12 hits and seven walks. This will be Woods Richardson's first start against the Dodgers. So far, he has accumulated 73.1 interleague innings with a 4.42 ERA and 1.44 WHIP.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the Milwaukee Brewers for a three-game series to start the second half of the season. The Dodgers suffered three consecutive losses (2-0, 8-7, and 6-5) as a result of their inability to handle the Brew Crew. Freddie Freeman sustained a bruised wrist during Sunday's final game of the series.

On Tuesday, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, a 26-year-old right-hander who has made 19 starts (104.1 IP) for the Dodgers will start. This season, he has a stellar 2.59 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. In his last appearance, Yamamoto allowed just three hits and two walks while spinning seven scoreless frames in a no-decision game against the Giants.

With the Dodgers so heavily favored, there’s no value on the money line. LA has just two wins in its last 10 games, so it’s hard to trust them to cover the run line, though they did it last night. Woods-Richardson has actually pitched pretty well as of late, but Yamamoto is the better option. He’s been very good all season, but over his last four starts his ERA is 1.83. He’s never faced the Twins, so he should be able to shut down a lineup that ranks just 20th in scoring. The Dodgers have covered the F5 run line in 4 of their last 6 games.
