COUGARS @ BULLDOGS 2/10/26
The Washington State Cougars (11-15) travel to the McCarthey Athletic Center tonight to face the No. 12 Gonzaga Bulldogs (23-2) in a West Coast Conference showdown. Tip-off is set for 11:00 PM ET. Gonzaga enters as a massive favorite, looking to maintain their dominance at home where they remain undefeated this season (15-0).
Gonzaga is currently playing like one of the most efficient teams in the country, ranking 12th in KenPom’s overall efficiency. Their offense is a juggernaut, averaging 87.6 points per game (15th nationally) on 51.2% shooting. They are particularly lethal in the paint, where they outscored Oregon State 50-10 in their last outing.
However, the Bulldogs are dealing with a significant injury. Braden Huff, their 6-10 redshirt junior who averages 17.8 points and 5.6 rebounds, is currently sidelined with a knee injury. While Gonzaga has depth with Graham Ike (19.7 PPG, 8.5 RPG) and Tyon Grant-Foster (11.3 PPG), the loss of Huff reduces their interior intimidation and scoring ceiling.
Washington State has struggled with consistency but remains a dangerous offensive threat. They rank 30th nationally in three-point percentage (37.3%) and 29th in near-proximity shooting. Freshman guard Ace Glass leads the way with 16.5 PPG, supported by Rihards Vavers (11.1 PPG) and ND Okafor (11.0 PPG).
The Cougars' main issue is their defense, which allows 80.6 points per game (304th nationally). They recently gave up 96 points to Santa Clara, highlighting a vulnerability that Gonzaga is well-equipped to exploit. Despite this, Wazzu has been a strong bet lately, going 7-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games.
While Gonzaga should win this game, a 20.5-point spread is a massive number for a rivalry game, especially with Huff out for the Zags. Washington State has covered the spread in 8 of the last 10 matchups against Gonzaga. The Cougars' ability to hit the three-ball (37.3%) allows them to hang around even if the game gets out of hand early. Gonzaga has also struggled ATS recently, going just 1-4 in their last five games.
While both teams can score, recent trends suggest the Under is the sharper play. Gonzaga has seen the Under hit in 15 of their 25 games this season (60%). In their previous meeting on January 15, the teams combined for 151 points, staying under the 155.5 line set for that game. Without Huff's 17.8 PPG in the lineup, Gonzaga's offensive efficiency takes a slight hit, making it harder to push this game into the 160s.
The Bulldogs have won 9 of the last 10 head-to-head meetings against WSU. They are 15-0 at home this year and possess a massive rebounding advantage (41.4 RPG vs. WSU's 34.8 RPG). Their interior dominance with Ike should be enough to get the Bulldogs another home win. Gonzaga won the first meeting this season 86-65 at Washington State.

FREE PICK: UNDER 156.5
Ever since Huff went down with his injury, Gonzaga has struggled offensively. The Bulldogs have struggled to maintain the type of pace they are accustomed to playing. This is a team that typically averages 73 to 75 possessions per game. More recently, Gonzaga has averaged 67.5 possessions per game over their last three. Over their last 7 games, the Under has cashed 6 times and for the season the Under is 15-10 in Gonzaga games. Of their last 10 games, only two have finished with 157 points or more.
