Tonight’s pitching matchup features a fascinating contrast: Boston’s left-hander Jake Bennett makes a critical start against the Dodgers' Emmet Sheehan. While the Dodgers are heavy favorites, the statistical trends and sharp money indicators suggest several high-value opportunities across the moneyline, total, and player prop markets.

The Dodgers enter as definitive favorites, and the sharp data backs this up. You could pair Freemand with Ceddanne Rafaela, who has been the spark plug for this Red Sox offense. He is currently on a tear, hitting the Over 0.5 Hits in 100% of his last 5 games and 85% of his last 20. He is coming off a massive performance in the series opener where he blasted a go-ahead 2-run home run, and he has already recorded 3 hits in his only matchup against the Dodgers this season.

Rafaela thrives on the road, hitting the over in 76.47% of his away games this season. He faces Emmet Sheehan tonight, a pitcher who has struggled with consistency and currently sports a 52.63% season hit rate for strikeouts. Rafaela’s aggressive approach at the plate and his 0.286 season batting average suggest he will have no trouble finding grass tonight. With a mean of 4.18 strikeouts per game this season, Bennett only needs to maintain his average to clear this relatively low bar.

You can't talk about a Dodgers game without mentioning Shohei Ohtani. Despite some recent news regarding knee and biceps soreness that has kept him off the mound, Ohtani remains a force at the plate as the designated hitter. He has hit the Over in 80% of his last 5 games and has a career 100% hit rate against Boston (averaging 1.33 hits over 3 games in 2025 and 2.0 hits in his 2026 meeting).

Ohtani is averaging 1.6 hits over his last 5 outings, showing that his timing is locked in. While the odds are juiced (-260), he is the most likely player on the field to record a hit tonight.
